Here is a story by Lane DeGregory in the St. Petersburg Times. DeGregory is one of the best feature writers around, and she usually writes about family issues. This story illustrates a different way of covering a criminal case. Typically, newspapers will cover criminal cases as they progress through the system. In this story, DeGregory picks it up at the end, and yet tells the entire story thoroughly.

I though it was well written, and it did include a lot of detail. What I saw as really effective is how Degregory went from what happened to then explaining the couples background. It is a sad story to read and that is what stood out the most from this feature. It also raises an issue that people need to be aware of.
